MISSOURI ST. LOUIS COUNTY Carnahan Appoints 2 Judges To Positions On Circuit Court

Gov. Mel Carnahan appointed two judges to the St. Louis County Circuit Court on Tuesday - Mark D. Seigel as a circuit judge and Colleen Dolan as an associate circuit judge.

Seigel, 49, is a partner in the law firm of Goffstein, Kraus, Sherman, Seigel & Weinberg in Clayton. He succeeds Judge Richard T. Enright, who resigned.

Dolan, 37, is a municipal judge in Ellisville and a partner in the law office of Fischer & Dolan. She fills a vacancy created by the appointment of Robert Cohen as a circuit judge. Post-Dispatch Jefferson City Bureau

***** DRUG CASE Pretrial Hearing Rescheduled For Son Of House Speaker

A court appearance for Jeff Griffin, who faces drug and weapons charges in Lake Ozark, has been rescheduled for late next month.

Griffin, 33, is a lobbyist and is the son of House Speaker Bob Griffin, D-Cameron. Jeff Griffin was to appear in court on Monday, but Kenneth McCutcheon, city prosecutor, said that a pretrial conference with Griffin's lawyer had been reset for Sept. 26.

Lake Ozark police arrested Griffin June 8 on charges of possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a concealed deadly weapon. Post-Dispatch Jefferson City Bureau

***** LINCOLN COUNTY Allegations Against Educators Target Of School Investigation

Allegations of cheating by school officials will be discussed Thursday night at a special closed-door meeting of the Lincoln County R-4 School Board.

The principal of the high school in Winfield, David Gorski, has been accused anonymously of telling teachers to take home copies of the Missouri Mastery and Achievement Test so they can prepare lessons based on it in an effort to boost students' scores. …
