Q: Our rough-finished concrete porch was once covered with outdoor carpeting. We have removed the carpet but can't get the adhesive off. We have tried lacquer thinner, acetone, a commercial adhesive remover and muriatic acid, but it's still there. What's our next step?

A: Try a paint and varnish stripper. It should soften up the adhesive, and then you can scrape away the sludge.
