IT MUST BE THURSDAY! Arthur E. Kruse, 97, who spent half a century as a salesman with Lammert Furniture, has plunked down $25,000 for four tickets aboard the maiden Concorde flight from Lambert Field to London. It takes off at 7 a.m. Sunday (the money includes return passage by ship). Kruse said he gave his son, daughter and their spouses the trip to Europe "because I just wanted to do something big for them - possibly as a last gesture."

Kruse said, "I can't make it. My voice is the only thing good left about me." . . .

Woodward/White Inc. of Aiken, S.C., is churning out the 1995-1996 issue of "The Best Lawyers in America." They've added four new categories - banking law, franchise law, workers compensation law and legal malpractice law - "to reflect the increasing specialization of the profession and to make the book more useful." But the workers comp category for Missouri is conspicuously absent. A quick call to the publisher and a voice responded with: "Workers comp just didn't pan out in Missouri." (Shades of the Second Injury Fund!) . . .

Three local lawyers from the same family are listed in the volume - unique in all the nation's listings. They are: James E. Hullverson Sr., James E. Hullverson Jr. and Thomas C. Hullverson - all with the Hullverson Law Firm, specializing in personal injury litigation. . . .

Marc D. Spector has joined Michael Hoare's firm, which specializes in employment discrimination. Spector, a grad of WashU Law School, is handling civil rights cases. He just happens to be the heir to Patsy and Dr. Gershon Spector, the famed WashU otolaryngologist. . . .

Organist Stan Kann, who lives in Hollywood, will perform a concert Oct. 16 on the Allen Theatre Organ in the Rickman Auditorium in Arnold.
