TIM ROBBINS has a thing for the King.

"I just have this unnatural fascination with Elvis," the star of the new movie "Shawshank Redemption" told Entertainment Weekly.

Robbins' wife, actress SUSAN SARANDON, gave him a Presley tapestry for Father's Day.

"I guess it reminds me of how important perspective is," he said. "You know, watch out or you might wind up wearing really silly costumes with Hawaiian leis."

In London, PRINCESS DIANA, estranged wife of PRINCE CHARLES, made a rare public appearance Monday to help kick off a charity for bereaved parents.

The princess, who retired from public life nine months ago, made her way through about 400 reporters, photographers and fans as she arrived at London's Royal College of Nursing for the Child Bereavement Trust, a charity for parents who have lost a child.

Diana, a former nursery school assistant, has long been a supporter of children's charities.
