Virginia D. Klein has been appointed chairwoman of the 1995 Archdiocesan Development Appeal by Archbishop Justin Rigali. The campaign raises money for the educational, pastoral, ecclesiastical and administrative needs of the St. Louis Archdiocese.

Dr. Ronnie Drake and Dudley Grove have been appointed to the board of directors of the St. Louis Regional Medical Center Foundation. Drake is director of dental services for the hospital's ambulatory care department. Grove is a partner in Key Resources Consulting and volunteers for several organizations.

Judith A. Deutsch of Ellisville was volunteer of the month for October for the Voluntary Action Center of the United Way of Greater St. Louis.

Dr. Wendy Brown has been re-elected vice chairwoman of the National Kidney Foundation. She is an associate professor of internal medicine at St. Louis University Health Sciences Center and director of clinical nephrology at the St. Louis Department of Veteran's Affairs Medical Center.

Fritzie Alferman was given the 1994 Cardinal Carberry Award recently at the St. Louis Archdiocesan Pro-Life Committee Convention.

Legal Services of Eastern Missouri Inc. has received the 1994 Hodson Award for Public Service from the Government and Public Sector Lawyers Division of the American Bar Association.

Barb Jordan has been appointed gallery director of Craft Alliance.

Marlowe J. Brown has been appointed community-based insurance coordinator for Neighborhood Housing Services of St. Louis.
