Terrell Brandon scorched Phoenix with 30 points and Chris Mills blocked three shots in a 1 minute-21 second span of the pivotal third quarter as the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Suns 107-96 on Thursday night. It was only the second home loss in 18 games for the Suns.

Brandon had 18 points in the first quarter, when the Cavs took the lead for good. Cleveland's National Basketball Association-leading defense (89.6 points-allowed average) kept the Suns, whose 112.3-point scoring average is No. 2 in the league, from getting closer than five points again. Danny Manning scored 33 points for Phoenix.

Nuggets 94, Mavericks 78: Rodney Rogers scored 16 points and Dikembe Mutombo had 15 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocked shots, leading the Denver Nuggets over cold-shooting Dallas. Jim Jackson and Jamal Mashburn led Dallas with 15 points each. The Mavericks made just 37 percent of their shots.

Spurs 113, Heat 108: Sean Elliott's 32 points and Vinny Del Negro's 27 - both season highs - made up for the absence of center David Robinson for San Antonio. …
