HEARTS ARE WILD: St. Louis County Circuit Court Judge Maura McShane granted an uncontested divorce to University City Mayor Janet Majerus last Friday from her husband of 37 years, Dr. Philip W. Majerus, a hemotologist and professor at WashU Med Center and financial adviser to the Dept. of Medicine. The court ordered Dr. Majerus to pay Janet almost $10,000 a month maintenance. Christopher Risler was the rep for Janet Majerus. She said, "It's rough, when your husband walks out on you after 37 years." . . .

Meanwhile, Joe Mooney, who was U. City mayor from 1978-1986, will marry Mary Ellen Hyde on St. Patrick's Day. According to Mooney's son, attorney Joe Mooney Jr., there will be 14 children between the newlyweds.

SPIN DOCTORS: The longtime PR shop Tretter-Gorman is about to split. Anne Tretter will go her own way with The Tretter Group. Her partner, Tom Gorman, said, "We haven't worked everything out yet, but she'll take her own accounts with her."

BIG MONEY PROFESSION: North County Surgery Center anesthesiologist Victoria L. Smith recently received her 1994 W-2 form from St. Louis University Med Center. After she opened the envelope, she almost became comatose. Shock registered 10 on her scale, when she noted the university reported Smith's wages for the year were $80.7 million, social security withheld $189,728, and federal income tax withheld $189,728.

"I really don't make $80 million a year. But if it's so, I want the money soon," cracked Smith. "Quite a few of us got the erroneous forms. New ones were issued. SLU explained it had contracted with an outside firm to run the forms. What frightens me is that those figures were reported to the IRS."

THE PASSING PARADE: Marge Amighetti said she has sold her stores to franchisees, but she and her husband, Louis, will retain national franchise rights. "I didn't sell the name," said Marge. …
