Mayor Still Fighting Foes Who Seek to Oust Her from Post

Article excerpt

The effort to recall Mayor Terri Williams of Webster Groves hung on "one last day" of negotiations, the mayor said last week.

But Ann Morris, leader of Charter Preservation Fund, said that although the mayor was sincere in peace parlays, Morris thinks "Terri likes to campaign" and was ready for another election.

The Charter Preservation Fund led the petition drive for two months. It had a goal of 5,000 signatures.

"It makes me look like the bad guy," said the mayor. "But I had family commitments."

She said she could have had an answer by the next day after a meeting of her advisers. …
