The Magazine Scene Notorious B.I.G. Is Extra Large on the Periodical Front

Last month, he was profiled in Details. This month, he's the cover boy for The Source: The Magazine of Hip-Hop Music, Culture & Politics.

I'm referring, of course, to Biggie Smalls, a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G., the gargantuan rapper who's currently dominating both the pop and hip-hop charts.

Music journalist Bonz Malone spends a day in the life of Smalls, smoking various forms of illegal vegetation and discussing Smalls' rise from Brooklyn hustler to video star. A photo spread shows the Ample One decked out in fly b-boy gear and cruisin' his hood with his homeys and his honey.

The text is devoted to Smalls' philosophy of life. To wit: "To be or not to be ain't the question, it's what you'll become that matters. Yeah, it's nice to have fat sh-t. The Versace, the Rolex, the whole nine, but there's one more thing that's not to be forgotten - you got to start small if you're ever to become B.I.G."

Whew! And I though Heavy D was deep.
