Dear Percy Ross: Six months ago, while trying to strip wax from the floor of my rented house, according to directions on the back of a Johnson & Sons product called "Johnson's Future Wax," and with telephone instructions after phoning their 800 number, I ended up with severely injured knees.

The company kept telling me on the phone to keep scrubbing until the wax came off. The wax was never able to be stripped. Due to the injuries to my knees (which are still scarred), I had to be out of work for one week. I'm a hair stylist, and I ended up not only losing $500 from canceled appointments and tips - but now I have a load of bills I'm still trying to pay.

Despite talking to Johnson & Sons' lawyer and writing several letters to the company, asking only for the lost week's worth of wages, I have been told that the company does not feel responsible and will not reimburse anything. …
