So the big TV channel switch happened three days ago, and you say you've found Fox on Channel 2, but ABC seems to be ... gone?

Some viewers in the area, particularly those living out west, have trouble getting Channel 30, as of Monday the home of "Home Improvement," "Roseanne" and all the other ABC shows.

The problem is that Channel 30 is a UHF station, and UHF signals weaken as they spread out. They're also more easily blocked by hills and trees.

This is a fact acknowledged by Mark Hoffman, Channel 30's general manager. But he says only "a few" households are affected. (Other estimates go as high as 5,000. Reality is probably somewhere in between.)

If you're having a problem, here's what Channel 30 suggests:
