Sigh. What romance. One thousand brides a year get married at Walt Disney World near Orlando, Fla.

Imagine yourself at the Disney Wedding Pavilion, in sight of Cinderella's castle. Maybe Dumbo will be there. Or maybe the groom won't bring his drinking buddy to his wedding.

You can even ride in Cinderella's glass carriage, with six white ponies. I mean, the ponies wouldn't be riding in the carriage. Not unless you want. It's your romance.

I called Disney World for the romantic details. The operator said, "Let me give you the number of our Fairy Tale Wedding Department."

Wow. A whole Fairy Tale department. I wondered who would answer the phone. A few years back, we had a real witch, but now she's working for another company. Grumpy, Dopey and Sleepy all seem to have, jobs, too. But I was sure some enchanting creature would answer the Fairy Tale phone.

It turned out the telephone was under a spell. Now even Fairy Tales have voice mail.

"Thank you for calling Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings and Honeymoons," said a taped male voice. He sounded too business-like for Prince Charming.

"If you know your party's extension, please touch 1 and the four-digit extension number. If you are calling from a rotary phone, please stay on the line," he said. "For information on Disney's Fairy Tale weddings, please touch 2."

I did. I was put on hold in the Fairy Tale department.

Brides can get the Intimate Weddings package for $2,099 per couple for four nights, a Disney representative told me.

"That includes your room, admission to the theme park, hourly use of the bicycles, canoes, sailboats and pedal boats at selected Disney Resort hotels, the wedding ceremony, officiant services, bouquet for the bride, boutonniere for the groom, continental breakfast, one dinner, the cake, champagne toast, a solo musician during your ceremony and a specially delivered Romance basket. …
