Our Tribe: Queer Folks, God, Jesus, and the Bible, by the Rev. Nancy Wilson (292 pages, HarperSan Francisco, $15). Written by the senior pastor of the Metropolitan Community Church in Los Angeles, this book attempts to identify, affirm, and gather together a diverse and dispersed community. Wilson's goal is to wrest the Bible from being completely co-opted by punitive religious theologies that set lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people apart as the "other."

Along with his own balanced commentary, award-winning author Miller includes an ample supply of photos and excerpts from works by such personalities as James Baldwin, Willa Cather and Walt Whitman.

The volume also explores the impact of Price's columns on other newspapers around the country. Read the book for yourself to figure out the title.
