Nothing like a mention of barbecue to unleash passion.

When we asked you to recommend joints that weren't included in our centerfold story (GET OUT, April 25), we had no idea about the volume of e-mail, faxes and letters that would follow.

Considering the poundage I put on as a result of the centerfold (and honey, I don't get paid en-ough to afford that liposuction), I'm just passing on your tips to the rest of our readers, without my critical appraisal.

"There is one barbecue joint worth mentioning that you must not know of," Jan Kocurek, wrote to me. "The place is called Pigs-In-A-Pok. It just opened last year and does Bob, the owner, pack them in." The place is located at 2005 S. Belt West in Belleville. According to Jan, don't miss the pull apart pork sandwich. She says the sauce has just the right flavor of smoke and spice, with just a hint of sweetness. Prices range from $2.50 for a regular pork sandwich to $12.95 for a slab of ribs.
