Book Sale Bonanza

Library Ltd.'s fourth anniversary book sale is Friday through Sunday. Shop inside and outside with over 75,000 books at up to 80 percent off. Along with book deals, the store will have a weekend full of events including music and food. For more info, call 721-0378.

Roll With It

The Prudential HealthCare St. Louis Roller Rally, St. Louis' largest in-line race, begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at Jefferson Ave. and Market St. The rally is open to skaters of all ages and abilities and will include 10K and 5K races and a 1-mile fun roll. Entry fee is $16 for the 10K and 5K races and $10 for the fun roll. The first 500 entrants will receive T-shirts. In the 10K and 5K races, trophies will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in the following age groups: 12 to 14, 15 to 17 and 18 to 20. Register at Get In Line Skate Shop, 4584 Laclede (corner of Euclid and Laclede in the Central West End).

All entrants must wear a helmet. Wrist guards, knee and elbow pads are recommended. Skates and safety gear are available at Get In Line. All proceeds benefit Lift For Life Gym, a non-profit organization that provides positive alternatives to St. Louis youths. For more info, call 436-2337.

Roll With It, Part II

Always wanted to try in-line skating, but didn't know how? St. Louis In Line Skate Association and Get In Line, Inc. have teamed up for a night of lessons and product displays at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the lower Muny lot on Forest Park. The evening includes: Instruction for all levels, seminar, equipment maintenance check; a St. Louis Vipers representative will be on hand to demonstrate fancy footwork. The In-Line Fling is free and advance skate rentals can be arranged by calling Get-In-Line 367-2929, or, for more info, call 569-0091.
