Lead Fred Funk shot an 8-under-par 63 for a share of the third-round lead with Pete Jordan in the B.C. Open in Endicott, N.Y. Jordan shot a 66 to match Funk at 16-under 197. Simon Hobday, who won the Brickyard last year, led the tournament after Friday's first round, shooting a 7-under-par 65 while playing bogey-free golf. Bob Betley and Tom Wargo of Centralia, Ill. were 1 stroke back. ***** HORSE RACING Gall Closes In On 7,000 Jockey Dave Gall will have 10 chances to win five races Sunday night at Fairmount Park in his quest for 7,000 victories. Post time for the first race is 6:30. Gall, who will ride all 10 races Sunday night, won two times on seven mounts Saturday night, giving him 6,995 wins. He won the first race aboard Beau Bravo and the second race on That's It. If Gall doesn't reach 7,000 wins Sunday, he'll have eight tries Monday night. …
