HARMON-IZING: Former St. Louis police chief Clarence Harmon has dropped another strong hint that he'll be running for mayor. At a party last Thursday night honoring Sgt. Joe Burgoon, who was recently transferred out of the homicide unit, Harmon said: "If everything works out, I'd like to honor Joe with a proclamation." As in mayoral proclamation, that is, Harmon told more than 200 people at the Trigg Banquet Hall in north St. Louis County. U.S. Attorney Ed Dowd was among those who feted Burgoon, a 27-year vet of the homicide division, before his abrupt transfer. The party was organized by homicide detectives Roy Douglas, Joe Nickerson and Joe Right.

LITIGANTS: Parcfront Investors LLC has sued Pershing Foods Inc., alleging "breach of lease" and "breach of guarantee." Parcfront is seeking payment of more than $100,000 plus interest, attorneys' fees, and court costs. The petition, filed in St. Louis Circuit Court, says that Parcfront owns the building on Union Boulevard where Pershing Foods' Parcfront Grill operated from April 4, 1994, to last Feb. 21. Pershing Foods is owned by David Jaster, Bryan Young, Brent Punch and John Schiezer. Young is repped by attorney Dennis Hoffert; Parcfront Investors is repped by Katharyn Davis. . . .

The U.S. Bankruptcy Court has called a meeting of creditors for 9 a.m. Sept. 6 in the Old Post Office Building, 815 Olive Street, regarding debts owed by John M. "Jack" Garagnani. Garagnani is seeking protection under Chapter 7. He is the former hotelier/restaurateur and son of the late, famed Julius "Biggie" Garagnani.
