Butler University snapped the University of Missouri's streak of four consecutive Mid-America Classic basketball championships with a 66-54 victory Saturday in Columbia, Mo.

The Tigers (4-3) shot 32 percent from the field. Down by as many as 17 points late in the game, Mizzou fired a salvo of off-balance 3-pointers, dropping its long-distance accuracy to 18 percent (four of 22).

"We have no patience anymore," said sophomore Kesha Bonds, who recorded her fourth consecutive double-double with 13 points and 17 rebounds. The Bulldogs (3-2) nailed 50 percent of their 3s, got 40 points from guards Debbie Benzinger and Jennifer Marlow and stood at the free-throw line 34 times. Benzinger, who hit four 3s, led Butler with 23 points. Marlow made 11 of 12 free throws. Bonds was the only consistent Tiger. Double- or triple-covered for the entire game, she bashed through for six-of-nine shooting. When Bonds was neutralized, however, MU struggled to find the open shooter. …
