Rodney Rogers scored 22 points and Stanley Roberts had 19 points and 14 rebounds off the bench as the Los Angeles Clippers staggered to an 81-70 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night.

The Clippers beat the Timberwolves for the fourth consecutive time despite the fact that neither team shot better than 35 percent from the field. The Clippers' starting backcourt of Pooh Richardson and Malik Sealy shot a combined two for 20.

Tom Gugliotta had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who tied a club record for fewest points. They also scored 70 on Jan. 9, 1990 at Sacramento. Cavaliers 101, Nuggets 86: Danny Ferry came off the bench to score 20 points and the Cavaliers used an 18-0 fourth-quarter run to secure a victory over Denver in Cleveland. The Cavs led by 10 at 79-69 with just under 10 minutes remaining when Terrell Brandon, who scored 19 points, started the Cavaliers' streak.
