Kodak, Disney Help Extend Record Run

Stocks pressed their advance for a sixth day Monday, sending the Dow Jones industrial average and the Standard & Poor's 500, and Nasdaq composite indexes all to records.

Prices never flagged, as shares of Eastman Kodak Co. reached a high on a rosy profit outlook and semiconductor manufacturers soared.

Investors said they see no reason to expect anything other than rising corporate profits, moderate economic growth of 2 percent to 3 percent, subdued inflation and low interest rates. Among St. Louis stocks, Emerson Electric Co. rose 2 to 97. The Dow industrials have gained 3.9 percent since Nov. 1. Kodak jumped 1 5/8 to 82 5/8, pushing up the Dow by 5 points. Walt Disney Co. rose 1 7/8, to a record 70 3/8, while Philip Morris gained 1 1/2 to 99 3/8. Philip Morris was helped by a decision by College Retirement Equities Fund to reject a shareholder proposal to sell the fund's tobacco stocks.
