Romeo and Juliet (PG-13) is one Shakespeare adaptation that should pull in big teen crowds. Featuring heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio, angst model Claire Danes and a modernized, tragically hip setting, Baz Luhrmann's bold revision has high school heaven written all over it. It's lively, brash and visually stunning. But the little ones should probably stay with the sitter. The gunplay and spontaneous violence may be a perfect match for the play's spirit, but it won't be much fun telling the kids all about au tomatic weapons.

CONTINUING The Associate (PG-13) - The plot - Whoopi Goldberg creates a fictional white man to run her financial firm - appeals to The First Wives Club set, but it won't do much for kids. The satire comes to life only when Whoopi appears as the bogus "associate." There's some bathroom humor and brief partial nudity. Dear God (PG) - This laugh-free comedy doesn't have a prayer with the kiddo set. The message - anyone can create a miracle - is inescapable, the language is occasionally salty and the jokes are anything but heavenly. D3: The Mighty Ducks (PG) - Disney's latest foray into the world of kids' hockey will offend only those who value their intelligence. The sportsmanship lessons can be valuable if you don't mind the saccharin. Emma (PG) - Though there's nothing objectionable about this adaptation of Jane Austen's novel other than a few examples of bad manners, it's a movie that won't appeal to anyone younger than 12. But those teens caught up in romance will adore Gwyneth Paltrow's performance. The First Wives Club (PG) - Abandonment, divorce, plastic surgery and retribution aren't subjects to keep small fry glued to the screen. There's also strong language, a sequence in a lesbian bar and a death scene. Fly Away Home (PG) - Triumphant tale of a 13-year-old who teaches orphaned Canada geese how to fly south for the winter. …
