VIOLENT DEATHS

St. Louis: Homicide detectives were seeking a murder warrant Thursday night against a 47-year-old man in connection with the fatal stabbing of Michelle Andrews, 26. Andrews was stabbed in the mouth about 3:30 a.m. Thursday in her home in the 3900 block of North Florissant Avenue. She died at St. Louis University Hospital at 5:02 a.m. The suspect, who is the boyfriend of Andrews' sister, claimed self-defense, saying Andrews came at him with a knife. St. Louis: Semone McAlpine, 20, was charged Wednesday night with first-degree murder in the shooting of Malerie Martin, 32, early Tuesday. Martin died at home, in the 4700 block of Emily Street. Just before her death, she told her son that "Kool Aid" had shot her. McAlpine, of the 4400 block of North 20th Street, was arrested Wednesday. "Kool Aid" is McAlpine's nickname. McAlpine thought Martin had stolen his TV. ASSAULTS Neosho, Mo.: A 4-year-old boy apparently found a handgun in a bedroom, found ammunition somewhere else in the home and loaded it. Then he accidentally shot his 7-year-old sister. The round from a .22-caliber handgun hit Heather Willis in the chest. She was in fair condition at Kansas City Children's Hospital Thursday. The children's mother and two other siblings were at home. The father was in a workshop nearby. St. Louis: A 37-year-old woman escaped from a man who tried to rape her in his car late Wednesday in the 8300 block of North Broadway. The victim had accepted a ride with the man near Vandeventer and Kennerly avenues. She said the man bit her on the head, but she was not seriously injured. FIRES Granite City: John F. Brown, 46, died Thursday in a fire that heavily damaged his apartment in the 2400 block of Delmar Avenue in Granite City. …
