IT WASN'T for want of extra money that Fran Wilner began moonlighting as a concierge 8 1/2 years ago. It had something to do with warm fuzzies.

"I like the opportunity to help people, and I like working in the environment of a hotel," she says.

"It gives you lots of chances to meet people. We have a lot of return guests, and they really become like members of the family - you share births of babies and weddings. "What I really enjoy is what I call the warm fuzzies - people who have a loved one at the hotel and they think of them and want something special put in their room, or somebody will call and want to have roses waiting for their loved one." Wilner works two nights a week at the St. Louis Airport Hilton. By day she is a first-grade teacher in the Francis Howell School District. Her teaching career has spanned 29 years. …
