ASSAULTS

St. Louis: Police are investigating three shootings that took place in less than two hours early Tuesday. At 1:30 a.m., a man, 36, was shot in his back at a home in the 2900 block of Sullivan Avenue. About 3:30 a.m., a man, 38, and a woman, 29, were shot outside a home in the 1300 block of Arlington Avenue. None of the injuries was life-threatening. Police had no motives for the shootings and had made no arrests late Tuesday. COURT ACTIONS Columbia, Mo.: Delton Johnson, 32, who is HIV-positive, has pleaded guilty to a felony charge for knowingly donating tainted blood. Johnson pleaded guilty Monday of risking infection of another with HIV, a Class D felony. Johnson admitted that he knew he was infected with HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, when he donated blood at the Alpha Therapeutic Plasma Center in Columbia in January 1995. The infected blood was detected in a screening process by Alpha and never entered the blood supply. …
