SEUSS, the great children's author, had so much fun with rhyme and rhythm that when you read his books aloud, you almost find yourself singing. Composer Robert Kapilow has taken things one step farther and turned one of his classics, "Green Eggs and Ham," into a short opera. Now Muny 1st Stage is giving the show a crayon-bright production, well suited to kids about kindergarten age or so. The opera is not quite 20 minutes long, but that's plenty of time for Sam and his cat-in-the-hat-like friend, the Puppeteer, to offer their strange, favorite dish to a soprano who rejects it over and over. She does not want it in a box, she does not want it with a fox - well, you get the idea. Finally they wear her down so much, she takes a bite and loves it. T he message may be "try new things," but the medium is so silly you'd hardly notice. …
