Last year: Jim Furyk birdied the third hole of a playoff with Brad Faxon for the former Arizona star's second PGA Tour victory. Furyk closed with a 3-under 69 and Faxon shot a 70 for 11-under 277 totals. Last week: Mark O'Meara won the Buick Invitational in San Diego for his second successive victory, closing with a 1-under 72 for a 2-stroke margin over seven players. O'Meara, who won the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am two weeks ago, had a 13-under 275 total. Notes: O'Meara leads the money list with $710,460, followed by Sweden's Jesper Parnevik ($414,307) and Tiger Woods ($403,450). AUSTRALASIAN PGA TOUR Australian Masters Site: Melbourne, Australia. Television: The Golf Channel, Friday-Saturday, 7 p.m.-1 a.m. Last year: Australia's Craig Parry won the tournament for the third time in five years, finishing with 2-under 71 for a 2-stroke victory over countryman Bradley Hughes. Parry had a 13-under 279 total. Notes: Tiger Woods, making his second appearance in Australia, won the Asian Honda Classic last week in Thailand. The three-time U.S. Amateur champion has four victories in 13 pro starts. He tied for fifth in the Australian Open in December, 12 strokes behind winner Greg Norman. ...
