Dear Kelly: I've got all my tools put up for the season except for my favorite snow shovel. I always clean and oil my tools before storing them. Old motor oil works fine and is free. It's also easier to use it up than to try to find someplace to take the oil to be recycled. I keep a bucket of sand in the corner of my garage that is filled with old motor oil. I can store my snow shovel in there, and it's ready when I have to use it. The snow doesn't stick to the shovel when it's coated in oil. Another time saver!
