Beatriz E. Arauco-Calvin, the consul of Bolivia to St. Louis, has been installed as president of the St. Louis Consular Corps. Also serving as officers are Anna Mayer Beck, consul of Germany, vice president, and Jose L. Molina, vice consul of Spain, secretary-treasurer.

Barbara Slavkin has been appointed to the interior design advisory board at St. Louis Community College. She is director of marketing for June Roesslein Interiors.

James A. Clarkson has been named executive director of the Sunshine Mission, a homeless shelter in St. Louis. Alice S. Handelman, director of community relations at the Jewish Center for Aged, has won two national awards from the National Federation of Press Women. She was honored for direct mail fund-raising literature she prepared and for color advertising. Sharon Greer has been promoted to assistant manager of operations and human resources at the Missouri Athletic Club. Christopher Hicks has been elected vice chairman of the board of directors of the St. Louis County Economic Council. He works in the research and development/science and technology division at Mallinckrodt. Philip G. Otto has been elected chairman of the Metropolitan Board of Directors for the YMCA of Greater St. Louis. He is president of JAN-PRO Cleaning Systems. George A. Goodman has been elected president of the Association of Chiropractic Colleges. He is president of Logan College of Chiropractic. Dennis C. Golden has been reappointed to the American Council on Education's Commission on Women in Higher Education. Golden is president of Fontbonne College. Mark Pope has been elected president of the National Career Development Association. He is an associate professor in the School of Education at the University of Missouri at St. Louis. The Human Resource Management Association of Greater St. Louis recently was honored by the Society for Human Resource Management and Olsten Staffing Services.
