First Season for Seiji Ozawa Hall Resounds with a Full Schedule

SEIJI OZAWA Hall opens July 7 with a gala concert that includes conductors Ozawa, John Williams, and Norio Ohga; pianists Peter Serkin and Leon Fleisher; cellist Yo-Yo Ma; the Tanglewood Festival Chorus; the Boston Symphony Orchestra; and the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra.

The newly completed structure will be the performance center for Tanglewood's young musicians who study here.

A number of concerts and recitals will also be held in the hall, mainly during weekdays.

The Boston Symphony Orchestra will continue to perform in the outdoor shed nearby.

Following is the 1994 summer schedule for Seiji Ozawa Hall:

July 10, 8:30 p.m. Juilliard String Quartet: Haydn, Beethoven, Schubert

July 13, 8:30 p.m. Thomas Hampson, baritone; John Browning, piano; Boston Symphony Chamber Orchestra Players: all-Barber

July 21, 8:30 p.m. Maria Tipo, piano; Quartetto di Fiesole: Brahms, Beethoven, Schumann

July 27, 8:30 p.m. Richard Goode, piano: all-Beethoven
