PICK OF THE WEEK

P.O.V.

Tuesday, June 3 10-11 p.m. (PBS) TV highlights for the week of June 1-7. All times are Eastern; check local listings. Ratings are listed for shows when available. SUNDAY - 6/1 SportsShow (CBS, 5-6 p.m.): It's the battle of the speed demons as Olympic medalists Michael Johnson and Donovan Bailey race for the title of the World's Fastest Man at Toronto's Skydome. Broadway '97: Launching the Tonys (PBS, 8-9 p.m.): Public television and CBS team up to bring coverage of theater's highest honors. First, PBS offers a live presentation of 10 mainly technical awards from Radio City Music Hall in New York. Also included are interviews with nominees. Part 2 of the big night, Tony Awards (CBS, 9-11 p.m.), is hosted by Broadway-lover Rosie O'Donnell and features numbers from nominated musicals "Chicago" and "Titanic." (TV-PG) Sea Tales (A&E, 8-10 p.m.): This four-part series sets sail with a look at the ill-fated "Grocery Run," as Britain's Navy brass referred to the Bounty, commissioned to bring breadfruit from Tahiti. (TV-G) MONDAY - 6/2 The Odd Couple on Ice! (Nickelodeon, 8:30 p.m.-12:30 a.m.): In as unlikely a pairing as Felix and Oscar, classic moments from the TV series are acted out on ice during this week-long marathon. Tony Randall (Felix) and Jack Klugman (Oscar) host 40 of their favorite episodes. 1997 World Music Awards (ABC, 9-11 p.m.): One of the acts in this show taped in April in Monte Carlo is Los Del Rio, who found success with a little ditty called "Macarena." (TV-PG) TUESDAY - 6/3 P.O.V. (PBS, 10-11 p.m.): "Nobody's Business" is filmmaker Alan Berliner's attempt to make sense of his father, Oscar, a man living his last years almost entirely alone. Oscar, a less-than-enthusiastic subject, finds his son's efforts to explore a life he says "means nothing" a "waste of time. …
