Michael Stewart Named Fellow in American College of Trial Lawyers

Oklahoma City attorney Micheal C. Stewart has become a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers.

The college is an association of attorneys across North America which offers programs designed to improve the standards of trial practice, the administration of justice and theethics of the trial branch of the profession.

Stewart, a partner in the firm of Stewart & Elder of Oklahoma City, has been practicing law for 25 years. He was inducted at the recent annual meeting of the association in London. . .

- The Southwestern Legal Foundation has scheduled its 32nd annual Institute on Labor Law for Oct. 17-18 in Dallas.

The seminar will cover the 1984-85 term of the United States Supreme Court, recent decisions by the National Labor Relations Board, and important decisions and developments in the U.S. Department of Labor.

- The Practising Law Institute is sponsoring a seminar dealing with research and development of limited partnerships.

The seminar will be held Sept. 5-6 at the Holiday Inn Union square in San Francisco.

Limited partnerships have become a favored method of financing major research for an increasing variety of businesses. The program concentrates on legal, tax, and financial issues that arise from funding research in this manner.

Other topics to be discussed include defining research and development; drafting the license and option agreements; dealing with potential conflicts of interest; and dealing with potentially troubled limited partnerships. …
