ST. CHARLES > Man is charged in Commerce Bank robbery - DeAndre Alonzo Wilkes, 33, of the 300 block of South Duchesne Drive in St. Charles, was charged Thursday with the robbery Wednesday of Commerce Bank at 1101 First Capitol Drive. Wilkes, who was held on $200,000 bail, faces a charge of first-degree robbery.

WARRENTON > Charge filed against Pennsylvania woman in bank robbery - Jasmine M. McDaniel, 41, of Myerstown, Pa., was charged Thursday with the robbery Monday of First State Community Bank in Warrenton. McDaniel was being held in the Warren County Jail on $100,000 bail. She was arrested in Kingdom City, Mo. She faces a charge of second-degree robbery.

CAHOKIA > Plane safely makes emergency landing - No one was hurt Thursday afternoon when a single-engine plane made an emergency landing at St. Louis Downtown Airport, officials said. The pilot of a privately owned 1962 Beech P35 landed the plane safely just after 2 p.m. after a light illuminated in the cockpit indicating a problem with the plane's landing gear, said Patty Beck, a spokeswoman for the Metro transit agency, which owns the airport. The pilot and one passenger were the only people aboard the plane. The airport's fire department responded in case the plane had problems landing, Beck said. He did not know where the plane had originated. Cahokia, Camp Jackson and Sauget fire departments were called but turned back when the plane landed.

ST. LOUIS COUNTY > Driver dies in one-car crash - A woman from Town and Country was fatally injured Wednesday when her car crossed the centerline of South Mason Road and struck a telephone pole, authorities said. The St. Louis County medical examiner's office identified the victim as Beverly Fabian, 62, of the 1500 block of Foxleigh Court. The crash happened about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday as Fabian was driving north on South Mason, near Queeny Park. She was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis, where she was pronounced dead at 5:13 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities say Fabian was alone in the car, a 1999 Nissan Sentra, and that no other vehicles were involved. There were no skid marks, investigators say. Authorities are trying to determine whether she suffered a medical condition that caused the crash. The crash happened within the city limits of Town and Country, but the investigation was handled by St. Louis County police.

NEW ATHENS >Driver killed when car leaves road - A woman from New Athens was killed after her car ran off Illinois Route 156 on Thursday morning and crashed in a drainage ditch, police say. The woman Elizabeth M. Koch, 21, was driving a Ford Focus west on Route 156, just west of Klein School Road, when her car ran off the right side of the road, went through a field and into a steep drainage ditch, said Master Sgt. Brent Beltz of the Illinois State Police. …
