ST. LOUIS > Shootings leave six wounded - Six men, 18 to 25 years old, were shot over a six-hour span Sunday evening and Monday morning in five separate incidents, St. Louis police said. A 25- year-old man was in grave condition after being wounded about 11:30 p.m. outside a White Castle restaurant at 3534 North Kingshighway. After being hit in the abdomen and shoulder, he drove a vehicle - which police said was reported stolen - several blocks south, where it crashed into a utility pole. None of the wounds in the other shootings was considered life-threatening, officials said. It was not clear if any were connected. The other shootings were at 6:30 p.m. at Page Boulevard and Taylor Avenue; 6:45 p.m. in the 2500 block of Hodiamont Avenue; 11:30 p.m. in the 3700 block of Walsh Street; and 12:05 a.m. in the 4700 block of Ashland Avenue.

ST. LOUIS > Man is charged with murder - Carvaughn Guthrie, 18, was charged Monday with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the fatal shooting Saturday of Anthony Avery, 21, of St. Louis. Guthrie, of the 2800 block of Minnesota Avenue, was held without bail. Police said in court documents that Avery and another man met Guthrie in a backyard to buy marijuana but robbed him at gunpoint instead. As they fled, officials said, Guthrie grabbed a rifle and shot Avery in the back of his head. Avery was found dead in the 2800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.

ST. CHARLES COUNTY > Man is charged after firing at two cars - Gregory P. Crawford, 18, was charged with assault and armed criminal action Monday after police said he fired three shots at two carloads of men who allegedly came to assault him. According to police, Crawford and the group had exchanged several heated phone messages Sunday.
