Jobless rate rises in only 6 countiesOKLAHOMA CITY - Unemployment rates increased in only six of Oklahoma's 77 counties in July, the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission reported Wednesday.Nine counties had jobless rates for the month of less than 3 percent.Dewey had the lowest jobless rate among the counties for the month with 2.4 percent, down from 2.6 percent in June and 3.4 percent for July 2011.LeFlore County had the highest unemployment rate for July at 10.1 percent, up from 8.9 percent in June but down from 10.3 percent in July 2011. Oklahoma County, the state's largest county, had an unemployment rate for July of 5 percent, down from 5.2 percent in June and 6.1 percent in July 2011.Tulsa County, the state's second-largest county, had a jobless rate for the month of 5.3 percent, down from 5.5 percent in June and 6.7 percent in July 2011.OG&E crews assist power restoration effortsOKLAHOMA CITY - OG&E Electric Services has sent 71 employees to Louisiana to assist with power restoration after Hurricane Isaac.Crews will assist Cleco Power with restoration efforts. OG&E team members will stage at Cleco's corporate headquarters in Pineville, La., and from there will be dispatched to areas in need of additional support.OG&E is a member of the Southeast Electric Exchange, which dispatches mutual assistance teams in cases of widespread outages. OG&E crews assisted the same area in 2008 in the wake of Hurricane Gustav.
