Shooting on reservation kills 3

Church bells chimed in honor of three people killed in a shooting that also wounded a fourth person on an Indian reservation in California.

Authorities say Hector Celaya, 31, also shot and wounded his two daughters, ages 5 and 8, who were with him in the vehicle when he was apprehended about 2 a.m. Sunday.

Tulare County sheriffs Sgt. Chris Douglass says Celaya was wounded when he fired his weapon, prompting deputies to return fire.

The initial shooting took place at the Tule Indian Reservation, about 50 miles north of Bakersfield. Tribal council secretary Rhoda Hunter said the suspected shooter had what she described as a real hard life.

Newark mayor weighs future Democratic Mayor Cory Booker of Newark, N.J., a prominent figure in his party, said Sunday that he would decide within two weeks whether to challenge Republican Gov. Chris Christie next year.

Booker, 43, who leads the states largest city, also told CBS Face the Nation that hes thinking about running for the U.S. Senate.

He said he has to decide on a gubernatorial bid in the next couple of weeks out of respect for his party and the other Democratic candidates whod like to take on the outspoken Christie.

Alabama county relishes being dry Clay County is the only county left in Alabama where there isnt a single place that you can buy a beer legally. And there are plenty of people there happy to keep it that way.

Its a scenic but poor county of about 14,000 people in the hills about 50 miles east of Birmingham.

It isnt illegal to have a small amount of alcohol in Clay County, and many people go across the county line to buy it and take it home. Wayne Watts, the county commission chairman and a former police chief, says its an open secret that you can buy it from bootleggers, too.

People such as the Rev. Bruce Willis say its unlikely the county will ever go wet. He says people wont vote for it in a rural area where family values are important. …
