Kelly reconsiders, leaves Oregon for Philadelphia

After originally choosing to stay at Oregon, Chip Kelly reconsidered and agreed to coach the Philadelphia Eagles. The 49- year-old Kelly replaces Andy Reid.

Kelly, who was 46-7 in four years at Oregon, interviewed with the Eagles, Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills after leading the Ducks to a victory over Kansas State in the Fiesta Bowl.

Owner Jeffrey Lurie said in a statement that Kelly will be a great leader for us and will bring a fresh energetic approach to our team.

Bears hire Trestman from CFL The Chicago Bears hired Montreal Alouettes coach Marc Trestman to replace Lovie Smith, get the most out of QB Jay Cutler and lead the team to the playoffs.

Trestman served as an offensive coordinator with Cleveland, San Francisco, Arizona and Oakland before spending the past five seasons coaching the CFLs Alouettes, leading them to two Grey Cup titles.

Chicago also hired Saints line coach Aaron Kromer as its line coach and offensive coordinator and Dallas Joe DeCamillis as assistant head coach and special teams coordinator. …
