ST. LOUIS Two robbed on the street * A gunman and two accomplices forced a man, 30, and woman, 39, onto the ground to rob them about 1:15 a.m. Friday in the Tower Grove South neighborhood then burglarized their home and stole their car using keys taken from the victims' pockets, police said. Nobody was hurt. The couple was walking to a convenience store when three men, one armed, came from a gangway in the 3400 block of Grace Avenue to confront them. Police were called when the couple's roommate saw a burglar looking into his bedroom, in the 3700 block of Fairview Avenue. The burglars fled in the victims' car, which was recovered later by police.

ST. LOUIS One funeral protest law upheld * A federal appeals court panel here ruled Friday that a Missouri statute banning protests within 300 feet of funerals is constitutional but a less specific law is not. The measures were enacted in 2006 after protests of military funerals by the Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church, which claims America's tolerance of homosexuality has drawn God's wrath. Banning protests "in front of or about any location at which a funeral is held" is not specific enough, the court ruled. It also said the 300-foot limit cannot apply to winding funeral processions. The appeals court sent the case back to a trial judge to consider several other challenges by Shirley Phelps-Roper, a church member represented by the ACLU. Attorney General Chris Koster's office, which defended the law, had no comment.

ST. LOUIS Record expunged for former Democratic official * The arrest record of Matt Teter, former executive director of the Missouri Democratic Party, was expunged Friday by Circuit Judge Robert Dierker after no charges were filed. Teter was arrested on Feb. 19, 2012, after allegedly fighting with his boyfriend, who suffered a black eye and laceration. …
