ELLIOTT STARTS WELL

Blues goaltender Brian Elliott starred in the scoreless first period. But he got some help from Kings winger Justin Williams, who walked in on a 2-on-1 rush and fired high. Oddly, the best Blues scoring chance came short-handed, on David Backes' breakaway.
