The St. Louis Cardinals are not the only game in town. The Gateway Grizzlies and River City Rascals of the independent Frontier League also boast great baseball action.

Total cost? A family of four can sit behind home plate for the same cost of a single seat in the nosebleeds at Busch. Plus, the kids get to meet the players, go crazy in the playground and run the bases.

RC: The Rascals hit a home run last season with the Arch Nemesis,a teriyaki chicken breast sandwiched between two quarter- pound hamburger patties, seasoned in Riley's All Purpose Seasoning with two slices of white and two slices of yellow American cheese on a toasted bun.

"Last year we really stepped up our concessions," said Rascals spokesman Greg Talbott. "The Grizzlies have their donut burger but we're pretty sure the Arch Nemesis is one of the best burgers in baseball. And the all-beef Mayor Bill Big Dog is a really good too."

GG: Which is the more unlikely ballpark food a hamburger on a Krispy Creme glazed donut or a low-fat turkey wrap? This year, the Grizzlies introduce a healthy menu featuring chicken and turkey wraps, hummus, baby carrots and multi-grain chips.

"We'll still have the Krispy Kreme burger," saidAdam Young, who said the stadium sells some 4,400 donut burgers every season. "Whenever there is a ranking of baseball's crazy food items, we are up there."

RR: Kids can play on the completely rebuilt playground and run the bases after every game. During "Signature Saturdays," fans can chat to players and get autographs.

GG: The Kids Zone features a recently renovated playground, new inflatables and face painters. Kids also lead the nightly fifth- inning parade and run the bases on Sundays. …
