St. Anthony Hospital appoints chief of staff OKLAHOMA CITY - Gigi Toma has been appointed chief of staff for St. Anthony Hospital. A board-certified nephrologist, Toma has been practicing medicine at the hospital since 1992 after the completion of a fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Toma will serve a two- year term as chief of staff and will be succeeded by Robert Rader in 2015.

Nelson to serve on AST boardOKLAHOMA CITY - David Nelson, chief of the Heart Transplant Medicine Division at the Integris Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute, was selected as the first Oklahoman to serve on the American Society of Transplantation board of directors.He will serve a three-year term on the board of the international organization of more than 3,200 transplant professionals.

Cancer center adds Mons, WattsTULSA - Bradley R. Mons, a head and neck and microvascular reconstructive surgeon, and Edwin Watts, a radiation oncologist, have joined Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa.Mons received his undergraduate degree in microbiology at Oklahoma State University and his doctor of osteopathic medicine at OSU Center for Health Sciences in Tulsa. He completed a general surgery internship at Ingham Regional Medical Center in Lansing, Mich., and an otolaryngology residency at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also completed a head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstruction fellowship at the University of Wisconsin.A Union High School graduate, Watts received his undergraduate degree at the University of Oklahoma and his medical degree from the OU Health Sciences Center. He also completed a general surgery internship at Queen's Medical Center at the University of Hawaii and a radiation oncology residency at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center.
