GARFIELD - It was a game that will be remembered for years in terms of significance and importance.

Second-seeded Garfield somehow managed to erase an 18-point deficit and came up with several clutch plays in both of the two overtimes to defeat No. 10-seeded West Milford, 98-94, in the quarterfinals of the North 1, Group 3 boys basketball tournament.

The Boilermakers advanced to the sectional final, where they will host to Passaic Valley tonight at 7.

Thursday's improbable victory was clinched when point guard Josh LeClerc made two free throws to give the Boilermakers a four-point lead with two seconds on the clock.

Isiah Morales scored 33 points to lead Garfield, which earned a school-record 24th win. LeClerc added 24. Luke Basket led West Milford with 34 points and Jones had 23.Garfield sent the game to overtime when LeClerc made two free throws with 1:31 left in the fourth quarter to tie the score at 72.
