Heat Cause Emotions to Bubble Over

You probably don't like the Miami Heat.

Perhaps it was LeBron James' decision that bugged you. Maybe the ridiculously over-the-top celebration rally for the Big Three turned you off, when James famously claimed that the Heat would win "not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven" championships (Oops!). You might not like their notoriously bandwagon-laden fan base, or the borderline-insufferable histrionics of their PA announcer.

But for all of those reasons (and countless more) you have to dislike the Heat, you should be thankful for them. They're the reason these NBA Finals have become the most interesting since the 1990s.

Alone, the pure basketball theater of Thunder vs. Heat delivers.

The matchup between James (unquestionably the better all-around player) and Kevin Durant (the better scorer, and perhaps the better leader) is one for the ages The supporting casts deliver, too. Dwayne Wade plays the aging superstar, who seems to be losing his touch; Russell Westbrook is cast in the role of the enigmatic basketball genius, whose team nearly is unbeatable when his emotional game is focused and consistent. …
