RAMSEY - Paramus Catholic may have had the best player, but once again, it was proved Don Bosco has the better team.

The Paladins rode a wave of emotion and the confidence of All- Everything junior Jabrill Peppers into Granatell Stadium on Friday night. They left humbled as Don Bosco defeated them soundly, 31-8, in front of a packed crowd.

"They played a tremendous game," said Peppers, who had an interception, but only 26 yards of offense and no touchdowns. "You can't turn the ball over against Bosco, that's just how they are coached, they make you pay for turnovers. Coach [Greg] Toal has a program over here. He has his kids mentally tough and they showed that tonight."

Peppers was greeted with chants of "You're a Traitor" by the Bosco students when he took the field, and "We don't need you." Neither, of course, is true.

"I'm good. You live and you learn," he said. "We will definitely see them again. We will take our lumps and go back to the drawing board."

Paramus Catholic (4-1) was its own worst enemy in the first half, committing three turnovers, paving the way for 10 Don Bosco points.

"We just play hard, everyone does their job and good things happen when everybody does their job," said Don Bosco senior linebacker Spencer Scannell.

The story of the 2012 Ironmen (5-1) has been one of developing stars. Sophomore tailback Elijah Ibitokun-Hanks looked lost in the first two games of the season. The style of play and the intensity of Coach Toal's practice regimen seemed too much for the Shabazz transfer.

But since the Ironmen's win over DePaul in Week 3, Ibitokun- Hanks has looked like a different runner. …
