HACKENSACK -- A house party that spilled onto Kansas Street early Sunday drew police from 10 departments and led to the arrest of four people on charges that ranged from resisting arrest to aggravated assault on a police officer.

Police were called to the residence, between Hudson Street and Fair Street, at 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Manuel Tenezaca, who lives nearby and was awakened by the sound of fighting, said he saw people running though the street screaming. During the chaos, Tenezaca said he heard what he thought were gunshots. Police said the popping sounds neighbors heard actually were firecrackers.

Hackensack police Capt. Thomas Salcedo said the incident was not gang related and that the party guests -- who numbered about 60 -- were not fighting with each other. No shots were fired, he said.

Police arrested four people; all were still being held at the Bergen County Jail on Monday: Kashawan West, 21, of Hackensack was charged with rioting and resisting arrest and was being held on $35,000 bail; Leonard Gueye, 21, of Staten Island, N. …
