The San Francisco 49ers brought out something in the Giants on Sunday that had been missing since their Super Bowl triumph over the Patriots in February.

Now, the objective is to maintain that level in pivotal NFC East matchups with the Washington Redskins this Sunday and the Dallas Cowboys the following week.

The Giants (4-2) grabbed first place in the division with their impressive 26-3 victory over the 49ers at Candlestick Park, but they know very well they are 0-2 in NFC East games, with losses to Dallas and Philadelphia. In a 43-3 win over Buffalo a week earlier, the 49ers became the first team in league history with at least 300 yards passing and 300 yards rushing in the same game. That came after they ripped the Jets, 34-0, at MetLife Stadium.

The 49ers managed only three points, 80 yards rushing and 314 total yards against the Giants defense, though. …
