GREENBURGH, N.Y. - Henrik Lundqvist will enter Prudential Center tonight as the Rangers' starting goalie for the 22nd time since the Newark arena opened in 2007, including two playoff series.

So, no, he's not going to be thinking of his last time at The Rock, when the Devils eliminated the Rangers from the Eastern Conference final with a 3-2 overtime win in Game 6 on May 25.

"I've walked into that building many times," said Lundqvist, who'll make his eighth start this season after Marty Biron stopped 30 shots in Saturday's 3-2 win at Tampa Bay. "Right now, I'm just focused on this game. It's the past now, what happened that season. Going in there [today] is about preparing for a good game and getting two points."

The revamped Rangers will be looking for their second road win and their first trip above the .500 mark this season after a busy Monday that included trading Mike Rupp to the Wild for Darroll Powe and recalling 2011 first-rounder J.T. Miller and ex-Shark Brandon Mashinter from Connecticut (AHL).

"It's a big rivalry," said Marian Gaborik, who had one goal in the six-game series against the Devils as he played through a torn labrum in his right shoulder that required almost immediate off- season surgery. "Losing to them in the playoffs was a tough one for us. Every game is a battle and it's going to be the same for us [today]."

It's certainly a different lineup for the Rangers from the playoffs.

But Lundqvist has been a constant in the rivalry with the Devils since his rookie season in 2005-06.

"You try to learn from it for sure," Lundqvist said of last season's playoff loss. "But right when it happens, when the season is over, you try to forget about it. Because it hurts.

"It was a great series and what makes it special is we've played against them so many times, so many great games," Lundqvist added. "There's a history to it and what's been going on in the past. …
