* Cliffside Park seniors Al Abah-Essola and Romar Smith elevated their games in three victories last week. Abah-Essola, a 5-foot-10 guard, averaged 22.7 points, including 21 in Saturday's 56-40 defeat of St. Mary in a Bergen Jamboree opener. In addition to his low- post defense, Smith, a 6-3 center, averaged 11 points, featuring 16 against St. Mary.

* Fair Lawn senior guard Carlos Salazar scored five pivotal points in the final minute of Saturday's 61-54 Bergen Jamboree win over Old Tappan. Salazar, who shoots better than 40 percent from three-point range, stroked a three to give the Cutters a 58-54 lead. He then scored in transition off a feed from senior forward Chris Moseley.

* Hawthorne Christian's Alex Thomas recently became the school's all-time leading scorer since the school entered the NJSIAA in 1998. Thomas, a 6-8 senior forward/center, has 1,404 career points. He surpassed Ryan Livingston, who finished with 1,255.

* Kennedy junior guard Jevon Rawls played well in his debut for the 11th-ranked Knights on Saturday. Rawls, a transfer from Manchester who became eligible Saturday, produced 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 63-57 loss at fourth- ranked Bergen Catholic.

* Senior forward Shannon Henry has led Palisades Park (8-6) to four wins in its past five games. Henry scored a season-high 30 in a 53-50 overtime win against Bogota and averages 14.5 points per game. Senior point guard Elijah Burgess is averaging 6.0 points, 6.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game.

* Pascack Hills doesn't have anyone averaging more than 12 points or eight rebounds per game, but it does have four guards shooting better than 80 percent from the foul line. They include sophomore Evan Schumer (94 percent), seniors Gavin Murphy and Nick Hallowell (85) and junior Zach Bernstein (81.4).

* Senior point guard Sonny Ray Dominguez and sophomore forward Colin Dedrick produced stellar all-around efforts during Pascack Valley's 56-29 Jamboree victory against Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday. …
