A Paterson construction company dubbed a "severe violator" by federal labor officials is facing a $66,400 fine for safety infractions -- the fourth time in four years that the company has been cited.

The U.S. Department of Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued notices for two repeat and two serious safety violations to F&G Sons Contractors Inc., which does business as F&G Stucco and Stone Contractors Inc., the agency said Monday.

OSHA said the company failed to provide protective equipment and to protect workers from serious fall hazards while working on a building on Union Boulevard in Totowa.

The company has 15 days to comply, request a conference with OSHA or contest the citations and the proposed $66,400 penalty.

F&G Sons Contractors Inc. was cited in September 2009, August 2010 and March 2013, resulting in proposed penalties of $108,640.

Federal records show those three cases are still pending, and an OSHA spokeswoman said the company has not paid the penalties. …
