Republican Senate Hopefuls Lag in Funding

Article excerpt

The four potential Republican challengers to Democratic Sen. Cory Booker raised only about $100,000 from contributors combined during the first quarter of this year, a time when they were traveling around New Jersey seeking support from county party screening groups.

Reports due Tuesday showed that just one of Booker's fundraising accounts, a joint operation with the Democratic State Committee, raised more than $68,000 from January through March.
