The Northern Highlands boys lacrosse team made two pieces of program history with its 10-9 victory over Pequannock on Wednesday.

The Highlanders not only claimed the Rizk Division title - the first outright division crown in program history - they also broke the program record for wins in a season with 16, one more than they had in 2005.

Holden Rosen-Grupp (44 goals, 55 assists) and Ryan Mulvey (48 goals, 21 assists) are among North Jersey's leading scorers and lead the second-seeded Highlanders into the North, Group 2 state tournament starting today.

CRUSADERS REPEAT: Bergen Catholic beat Ramapo, 7-5, on Thursday to win the Gibbs Division title outright and finish the regular season with a 16-0 record. It's the second straight Gibbs title for the Crusaders after previously having never won one, and it's the first time they've finished undefeated in the regular season. They are the top seed in the Non-Public A tournament and seek their first state title in program history.

GOLDEN TITLE: The River Dell boys claimed the Jacobson Division title with a 15-3 victory over Paramus on Tuesday.

It's the first title of any kind in Golden Hawks program history and it improved their record to 11-6 heading into today's North, Group 2 tournament opener, where River Dell is the No. 10 seed.

SPARTANS CLINCH: The DePaul boys finished with an undefeated record in the Curcio Division to claim the title outright with a 17- 4 victory over Dwight-Englewood on Tuesday.

It's the Spartans' first title since winning the Passaic County tournament in 2011 and their first division title since 2010. They are the fifth seed in the Non-Public B tournament.

KNIGHTS WIN: The Old Tappan girls won the American North division title outright with a 6-5 victory over Waldwick last week. It's the first title in Golden Knights program history and the win set a new record for wins in a season (12). Haley Symons (74 goals, 10 assists) is among North Jersey's leading scorers and the Knights defense has given up just 6.9 goals per game, 15th best in the state.

UNBEATEN PATRIOTS: Wayne Hills wrapped up a perfect regular season with a 12-11 victory over Bergen Tech on Monday. That secured the American South division title for the Patriots, their first undefeated regular season in program history (18-0) and gave them their second title in three days to go along with the Passaic County tournament title they won on Saturday. …
